What Is an NTI Appliance?
The NTI-tss (Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition Tension Suppression System) is a small dental appliance that fits over the front teeth. Unlike traditional nightguards that cover all teeth, the NTI device prevents the back teeth from touching during sleep. This helps stop the muscle activity responsible for clenching and grinding while allowing the jaw muscles to relax.
