All Smiles Family Encourages Flossing as a Lifetime Commitment
Many people do not take flossing as seriously as they need to. It’s very important to floss your teeth! Regular brushing of your teeth does not actually remove all of the food and sugary substances that build up in between your teeth. Yes, it is true, even using a good mouthwash does not attack the inter-dental build-up of plaque and tartar. The American Dental Association recommends that you floss or use another method to clean in between your teeth at least once a day in order to keep cavities away. If you do not do this, you run the risk of tartar buildup along the gum line and then between teeth that can only be removed by a dentist. If ignored, the lack of flossing can lead to gum disease.
All Smiles Family wants you to know -You have options
There are many different options for cleaning in between your teeth such as:

What if it hurts to floss?
That is a good question. If you have not created the habit of flossing before, do not be surprised if your gums feel a little tender at first. Be careful not to be too hard on your gums while at the same time, don’t be surprised if they bleed and are a little sore once you start. The more often you floss, the more comfortable you will be with flossing. The soreness willsubside, and your teeth will feel cleaner and in fact your breathe will smell better too!
Create a habit that you can model!
Pick a time during the day when you want to spend a little extra investment on your smile. Make that the time of day, every day that you clean in between your teeth. Then, share your habit with the younger ones around you, so that they can form this habit now so they have a head-start on Flossing For Life!
